MELISSA
BATESON was raised in a small town in Connecticut. Her family influence
is evident. Melissa's mother and grand-mother were master gardeners
as well as developed a small nursery at their family produce farm
and store, Wades Farm Fresh. Melissa's father, who owns Bateson Home
Improvements, influenced the developing passion for thinking and building
three dimensionally. In 1999, she moved to Brooklyn to study Industrial
Design at Pratt Institute. BFA 2003.
Summer of 2003, Melissa landed a job as a gardener and eventually
Head Garden Designer for Watson Gold Designs. Her four year run with
the company gave Melissa the confidence to make her own statement
in the horticultural world with her own methods.
Being passionate, conscious, charismatic and honest is her method
for fine gardening. |
